About SchulteLab

SchulteLab is a free online Schulte table trainer — and, step by step, a small cognitive training platform built around it. The Schulte table is the classic grid exercise for attention and visual search; we keep that core and add what static tables lack: dynamic variants (spinning, blinking, moving targets, size-shift), printable sheets, and local progress tracking.

Most Schulte sites are single static grids with ads. We wanted a trainer that treats practice like practice: timed rounds, personal records, a progress curve, standard-time references, and harder modes once the basics plateau. Everything is bilingual (English / 中文) from day one.

Every training feature runs entirely in your browser. Results and history are stored in localStorage on your device — there are no accounts and your training data is never uploaded. We use Google Analytics for anonymous, aggregate site-usage statistics; it cannot see your training data. Details are on the Privacy page.

SchulteLab is built and maintained by the SchulteLab editorial team, a small independent team working on attention-training tools. Reference content on this site — score bands, training guides, benefit explanations — is compiled from commonly published sources and cited research, and every efficacy claim is deliberately kept conservative: we state what the evidence supports and link the sources (for example the Owen et al. 2010 Nature trial and the Wikipedia reviews of brain training) on the pages that make the claims. Pages are reviewed and updated when sources or standards change.

Our daily challenge runs on a fully public seed algorithm: one UTC date produces one identical grid worldwide. The exact code is open source on GitHub (schultelab/schulte-daily-seed, MIT) with test vectors generated by the production engine — anyone can run it and confirm the board matches the site.
